Ozinga Chapel’s towering, 46-rank pipe organ comes alive as IPO lowers the curtain on its 47th season. Possessing nearly unparalleled technical facility, a brilliant ear for tonal color, and innovative programming style, Peter Richard Conte is one of the most admired orchestral organists of this era. Appointed in 1989 as the fourth Wanamaker Grand Court Organist, Conte presides over the world’s largest fully functioning musical instrument (29,000 pipes) at Macy’s Center City in downtown Philadelphia. The epic evening concert will also feature 2023/24 IPO Composer-in-Residence Oswald Hu?nh’s third commission for IPO.
